Quantum LEAP
Learning English for Academic Purposes
Quantum LEAP is an online learning environment for English language learning at university level. It consists of a series of thematic modules with multimedia material related to topics of academic interest, approached from an interdisciplinary perspective (e.g. women and science, environmentalism, science fiction, etc.). Each module contains interactive activities to practise the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.

MAIN FEATURES OF Quantum LEAP
Adapted to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA):
- Target users: learners of English for Academic Purposes (EAP), especially university students, lecturers and staff
- Levels: From B1 to C1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
- Motivating materials: authentic multimedia materials of general academic interest
- Communication: Emphasis on communication in real academic and professional contexts.
- Flexibility: allows for different learning routes, can be used as part of a course or by independent learners
- Lifelong learning: Emphasis on developing students’ autonomy and critical thinking skills
- Competences: Integrating content and language, developing different types of cross-curricular competences
- Tools: Monitoring the learning process and storing learners’ production (study guide, personal log, etc.).
- Interaction: A learning environment for individual and collaborative activities with tools for communication and the exchange of materials.
- Speaking skills: tools to record and store students’ speech as well as an interactive tutorial for improving pronunciation.
- Electronic portfolio: to store and share students’ written and oral production.
